Constantly Yearning, Constantly Learning-a Saturday workshop with Abraham-Hicks
I recently had the opportunity to attend a long anticipated seminar/lecture/workshop of Abraham-Hicks. Lead by Esther Hicks and the channeled collective of beings known as “Abraham”.
Late last year, I kept seeing Abraham-Hicks popping up on the web and mentioned from a few friends of them attending some of their workshops. It was not until earlier this year that I was able to experience 2 hours of pre-recorded video of Abraham-Hicks in action and I was enthralled. I loved the vibe and the messages coming through. I loved the way the forum was set up to allow everyday people, like you and me, to come up into the “hot seat” and ask provocative questions to the said Abraham. Nothing is taboo. I went home that evening immediately wanting to hear more. I wanted more of life’s big questions answered.
Most of the questions surround the subject of The Law of Attraction. How to manifest things into your life and figure out how or why we are blocking what it is we desire from coming into our lives. Who would not want to know these secrets?
Me being who I am, I figured out early on in my life that I pretty much get whatever I need, want or desire. I also figured out that a good attitude is very helpful in getting what I desire. But, there are a few small things that I desire and cannot figure out why I do not have them. This prompted me to want more answers from Abraham-Hicks. Luckily, she/they were touring and coming to my home town in 3 months’ time and tickets were available!
Unlike most people, I did not write down a list of questions in advance of attending this workshop. I am a believer that whatever information I need to hear will be said. Of course I had constructed a few vague topics in my head and I even raised my hand to go up into the hot seat. I did not get chosen, however, all of my questions were answered through other’s questions and through subjects other than how I would expect them to be delivered. I found that all of the answers really go back to the same bit of intrguing advice: Think positively, stop the negative thinking, do things that make you feel good, focus on your own happiness, keep your nose out of other people’s business and if you cannot stop sabotaging yourself (my favorite)- Take a Nap.
Of course trying to maintain pure positivity can be difficult in the world in which we live, but the more I work on it, the easier and better I get at it. It is the path of least resistance and I find, for myself, that I would much rather be in a positive flow, reaping joy and happiness than being caught up in someone else’s crap. This does however cause me to live a fairly solitary life because I am picking and choosing whom to share my life and experiences with. I no longer feel the need to have to please anyone except myself. The main priority in my life is ME and MY happiness. I have also found that when I am happy, so are others around me and we enjoy each other’s company that much more.
So, how do we raise our vibration and get to that place of happiness, joy and attracting abundance? Abraham suggests 15 minutes of breath focusing meditation per day. Doing nothing except just being for 15 minutes a day. However, many people; like Esther, do not like to meditate, but she does it anyway or my favorite solution to stopping the negative monkey mind is to simply take a nap. When we take a nap it shuts the mind down. It shuts down the Ego just long enough for it to reset itself and awaken fresh. If you are not a napper (like I am) just sit doing nothing for a few minutes a day, no television, no radio, no screaming kids, just Be and if you can, close your eyes and listen to your breath. If you can hold that for 17 seconds, you will raise your vibration just enough to shift something within you.
The bottom line to the Abraham-Hicks message is do things that Feel Good and do more and more things that Feel Good, Feel Good, Feel Good, Feel Good. Who does not want to feel good?
We are all works in progress taking baby steps toward a better and happier life. There are no set rules or formulas and we really need to see what works for us and what makes us all feel good. I do know this, when you are meant to get new information or find something to better your life, you will; so we mustn’t measure ourselves with each other, the focus here is on YOUR personal experience and desire and no two beings are the same.
If you want to see Abraham-Hicks in action, I highly recommend checking them out on YouTube. There are hundreds of videos. I particularly enjoy the official videos so that I can see them in action (some of the homemade videos do not have any actual Abraham-Hicks footage). If you enjoy them you can always go to their website and see when they will be in your town or attend one of their weeklong vacation workshops.
