Gung Hay Fat Choy – or Happy New Year!. Not only do we have a New Moon on Friday, January 27, 2017 in Aquarius, but on Saturday, January 28th we celebrate the Year of the Fire Rooster.
This week’s cards are Nightsong, Reflection and Liberation- they ask us to look deep within and see out our fear and get them out in the open (even if it is only on paper in your own personal journal) so that you can release these fears and anxieties from your subconscious so you can sleep soundly at night and function creatively in the day light.
Year of the Fire Rooster! Cock a doodle do! The Fire Rooster is brimming with Action and calls out to us to Wake Up! We say good bye and good riddance to the Year of the Monkey – Monkeys are just plain crazy and we have lived through last year’s craziness; it still carries over into the beginning of 2017. The first New Moon of the traditional New Year is generally when Chinese New Year occurs. You can read the last 2 year’s blogs from previous Chinese New Years here: Chinese New Year 2016 Chinese New Year 2015
What can we expect from the Fire Rooster? Chinese Astrologers say that a Rooster in the number year of 2017 is considered an unlucky year unless you are planning to marry, in which case is an auspicious year. Chinese astrologers do warn that if you have been in a long term relationship with no plans to marry you may want to think of ending that relationship. Now that seems a little harsh – some people are o.k. to not marry, but if you are looking for a proposal or you are not happy in the relationship, then rethink your position.
Lucky colors to use this year are Golds, yellows and browns. Sunny and grounding colors. Avoid Red as the Fire Rooster has enough action going on. Often Fire is the symbol of destruction – the Rooster is the symbol of construction. Plan on working hard this year towards goals!
That is all I have for now… I have been attempting to write this blog for 12 hours and my computer keeps crashing so I am publishing this half completed piece of work while I can. Enjoy this week’s video!
