This Week: Venus crosses Jupiter, Leonid Meteor Shower and the New Moon in Scorpio.
Check out the skies early tomorrow morning before sunrise for a spectacular display of the two brightest planets, Venus and Jupiter snuggling each other and then if lucky enough to see and capture, they will cross over each other. We should be able to see these two planets all week in the early morning hours prior to sunrise. We may even catch some meteors as the Leonids are gearing up for their peak this weekend. More of the Leonids below.
We are on the heels of the Scorpio New Moon, coming Saturday, November 18th yet, I can already feel and see the chaotic energy building; those grasping at the past before it is swept away by new, incoming energy. The Winds of Change, Air Magick has been swirling around us since Samhain, Halloween and he Full Harvest Moon. The leaves are falling from the trees gracefully and without resistance, yet we humans have the most difficult time letting go of situations, behaviors, people, emotions, and habits that are un-serving, un-deserving, un-healthy on a very deep level; we cling. Why? What are we so afraid of? The answer is The Unknown. We are afraid of the unknown, so we cling on to every last drop of dirt and grime that has been running through our veins of existence, but change we must for the sake of our own health, peace of mind, joy and fulfillment.
I feel like I am so full of good advice, but that advice may only be good for me. We each need to find what works for each of us. Just because I do this or I do that doesn’t mean that it will work for you. I can suggest, you can try it, but I do not have the magic cure or the magic answer. I can see and hear from my guides what is best for you, I can see and hear where your blocks may be, but I often find that people do not want to change; most people want the situation or people around them to change in order for joy and happiness to occur within their own lives – it does not work that way. Joy and happiness begin and occur within the Self. Self Love, Self Care, Self Contentment, Self Balancing, Self Nourishment; all of it this begins with and within the Self.
Scorpio New Moon at 26° asks us to go deeply within our own feelings, seek a balance within our emotions, bring together the elements within to heal and soothe our soul, open up to new possibilities and new adventures, open up to love, harmony and balance and make a final decision to live a better life at your own hands; take responsibility for your life, health and joy; accept that you are the master of your own destiny. Scorpio represents death, change, hidden things, secrets; the proverbial skeletons in the closet. The Scorpion kills its enemies and those that will hurt and injure it; the Scorpion protects itself by hurting others, by demanding that others and the world bow down to it, skirt around it, avoid it; for the Scorpion is dark and dangerous and misunderstood. We each have the Scorpion inside of us and now is the time to nurture, feed and care for this beast; show it that love, beauty and unlimited sustenance is available at all times.
Take the time to find what you need, what is lacking in your life. Ask yourself “What will make me feel whole?” “What do I need?” “How can “I” fill this space?” Make yourself your number one priority each day; even if it is for 5 or 10 minutes. Your world, your family, your significant other, your fur babies or your job will not fall apart if you take a few minutes to yourself each day. Sometimes it is as simple as sitting in my car a moment to finish listening to a song on the radio or taking a few silent breaths before opening the door; a drive once around the block before pulling into the driveway. It resets my mood and attitude.
Leonid Meteor Shower is beginning! – The peak (best time) to view these will be after midnight Thursday, Friday and Saturday, November 16, 17 and 18th. Flanked by No (New) Moon, the skies will be dark and make viewing easier. My best suggestion is to download the Free Application Google Sky Map for your mobile phone. It will point you in the direction of the Constellation of Leo and show you where to look. If you do not have a mobile phone, you will want to look for the Constellation of Leo (Google it) it looks like a Lion with a huge mane and sits to the right of the Big Dipper to the North. 20+ meteors per hour are expected, but I am hoping for a meteor storm. Scientists predict no storm this year, but I know one is coming soon as the Leonids usually storm every 20 years or so with a showy display of 300-400 meteors per hour! I witnessed such a storm back in 1998-ish when my daughter was little. We bundled up, head to toe, had our blankets and comforters, hot cocoa with marshmallows and laid out on the lounge chairs for hours in amazement. I felt like I was tripping, there were so many meteors my eyes almost could not adjust to what we were seeing. The very best time for view (in my opinion) is 3 a.m. If that means going to bed early, setting my alarm and maybe a quick nap before work then I am doing it! I hope you get to see something spectacular!
And Do Not Forget….make your New Moon Wish list. A Wish Thought or Spoken will surely come to fruition! Now here is your Weekly Wisdom, Tarot Cards and Crystals for the week! en-JOY!! xoxo Kim
