Coming off a Full Moon Lunar Eclipse and Comet streaking across the sky, none of which I was fortunate enough to see due to nearly 100% cloud cover during the entire event, the energies could still be felt. The strangest thing that I witnessed was the behavior of my dogs; the Beagle more specifically. When I took the dogs out for their last outing of the evening before bed, I had a difficult time getting them to come in. The Beagle was looking up to the sky, his chiseled head bent back as far as it could go without touching his own back – it was so weird and he just kept sniffling the air with one paw curled up and pointing in the direction of where the Moon probably was. He was in a trance like state for a good 20 minutes before I forced him to come inside; which did not stop him from begging to return to the Lunar energy several more times during the middle of the night.
This week brings us to the end of our Aquarian journey of discovering where we belong. The Moon will run from very seriously organized Virgo to fair and balanced Libra and ending with emotionally secretive and protecting Scorpio, which lives us in a sort of Black Hole by Saturday when the Sun will be at Zero (0) degrees Pisces and Zero (0) degree Moon in Scorpio – we will be hiding and protecting our emotions, plotting and scheming our next moves and/or feeling absolutely nothing – Zero. This week being the last week of Aquarius belongs to the Master Aquarians, the ones that are born knowing where they belong regardless of their awareness that they are different from anyone else in the Zodiac. They are the innovators and inventors; they think outside of the box for the sake of humanity and we should follow their lead and be more open minded to the Utopia they all envision for the entire Planet. The forward thinkers that they are – they were born in the 5th dimension and they will help lead us all there and toward the dawning of the Age of Aquarius, where we all get along, we all work together for a common cause and we all love and protect each other. We will not see the Age of Aquarius as that is not expected until 2500-2600, but we can be the forefathers and mothers and be the change that we all wish to see. We must start somewhere. I have lived with this vision of energy for the last 29 years as my daughter is a 29-degree Master Aquarian, born on the very last day of Aquarius- February 18th. I was raised by a revolutionary 14 degree Aquarian, who broke gender barriers decades before it was considered acceptable, I suppose that is why I always believed that I could do or be anything that I wanted to be – I was free to be me. That is the energy of the Aquarian.
Valentine’s Day- February 14th – anticipated by some, dreaded by most. The one day of the year that can easily make any successful human being feel deflated, defeated, unloved and inadequate. In 2014, 50.2 or 124.6 Million people ages 16 or older in the United States were reportedly single. That figure rose to 63% by 2015. From the time we are sent to school and forced to hand out Valentine cards in hopes that one is returned from our childhood crush, we wait in anticipation for validation that we are loved. It does not matter that the other 364 days of the year we are showered with affection, this one day is what the love for ourselves is measured against. Even if you are single by choice and loving it, this one day could take a strong, self-reliant person to their knees. Just know that it is all perception. The more grounded and confidant you are the better off you are. It is only one day, but that one day could have you reevaluating what it is that you want. Are you willing to open up to love, which is really taking a chance on rejection? You cannot win if you never run the race. On the lighter side, if you have a Sweetheart to celebrate with, be grateful for the presence of someone who loves you, without expectations. Without the expectations that you need a material symbol of a card or gift to prove that love. Take this day, single or coupled to appreciate the love that is around you the other 364 days of the year, cherish it, adore it and let it know your love. Be the love you wish to see in the world. <3
Sun in Pisces – Our intuition will be exceptionally tuned in on Saturday, February 18th and 19th. Pay attention to your dreams and gut feelings. Pay attention to that little voice as it a direct line to the Divine and will be giving you clues to the direction you should be moving in. Pisces bares the energy of Spirit and is the highest level of energy to connect us to our purpose and highest good. Utilize the advantage of this energy for the next 30 days to follow your gut and your heart, which will ultimately lead you to your greatest joy and happiness.
If you are living anywhere on planet Earth, you have been feeling the vast array of energies; everyone’s energies. You do not have to necessarily be an Empath to be experiencing everyone’s elation and angst. If you are an Empath (such as myself) it is emotional overload of the collective consciousness. I have been picking up on so much energy I am not even sure where mine begin and end and what is coming from other people’s energy. My stomach is in a constant knot, I have lost weight (not mad at that) and my anger levels have been quite extreme as well. If you have been feeling similar, you are not alone. My best prescriptive to shut it all out is Sleep as pure Meditation is no longer working to drown out the noise.
Sleep is underrated, but it is the best way to shut down, restore and revive. Even a power nap works wonders. Not only does sleep help you repair your body, it helps you lose weight, lowers blood pressure and reduces type 2 diabetes. Sleep increases life expectancy; if you are getting 5 hours or less of sleep, you have a greater chance of dying because you are not allowing your body to heal. Sleep improves memory, creativity and kindness. Lowers stress and anxiety which reduces heart disease. Better performance in all areas which includes driving, therefore reducing auto accidents as well.
The Aim – 8 hours of sleep per night is ideal, however, you will see benefits from at least 7 hours. If you find yourself sleeping longer on the weekends, then you are not getting enough during the week. I also have found that going to bed and rising at the same time or within a half hour keeps the body’s rhythm flowing.
Lunar Effects– Have you ever noticed having Sleep disturbances during different phases of the Moon? Scientist have proven that people are not only more crazy during a Full Moon, but have sleep issues during this time too. I personally know that during a New Moon I feel wiped out. Think about the ebb and flow of the tides, that are often controlled by the Moon. With our bodies consisting of approximately 65% water, it is no wonder the Moon could affect us in many ways. Think of it this way; when the Moon is Full, we are Full, we are at our highest version of ourselves and full of energy; almost like our adrenal glands are secreting extra amounts of adrenaline, which in turn keeps us wide awake. Conversely, as the Moon wanes so does our energy levels. Since we are coming off a Full Moon, take the next month and pay attention to your sleep patterns as the Moon wanes from Full to New, take it one step further and the following month, pay attention how it waxes from New to Full and see if you are affecting by the Lunar Phases. Since this past Full Moon also included a Lunar Eclipse, you may have slept better than usual as I did. Unless you are a total Astro-Nerd like me, you may never have noticed these Lunar coincidences, with the exception that people go nutso during a Full Moon and Hospital Emergency Rooms statistically are more crowded during this time as well.
The Law of Attraction and Sleep – we are all great Manifestors, some of us manifest great luck and some of us not so much. We are all vibrating and emitting our energy out to the Universe constantly in our awake hours and these vibrations are telling the Universe and the World who you are and what you want; as if you are standing in front of the menu board at a restaurant ordering up life. Imagine these vibrations shooting out like rays of sunshine or radio waves in the air. They travel at lightning speed to the collective consciousness, or a greater energy, the universe; not really sure who or what is taking the order, but one thing that is for sure, those vibes act like a boomerang – the order has been taken and then we wait for our order to be ready to eat and once ready they are delivered. However, we as people are surprised sometimes as to what shows up. Elated surprises are the best, angst filled surprises, not so much, yet, it was the vibrational order that you requested at the take-out window. Wishes are great and they can put us in the mental mode for them to manifest, our true feelings deep inside are what we are really wishing for and emitting. So, when negativity, anger, worry and anxiety creep in, the best thing to do is Sleep. It immediately shuts down the emissions or emotional waves; it cancels out any ongoing order and it resets your brainwaves back into a neutral position. It gives your mind a breather and in many cases when you wake up, you will feel differently. Naps work too, allowing for a quick reset. Think back to a time when you were on anger or negativity overload, it is exhausting isn’t it? But we never stop long enough to rest our weariness. Give it a try- try some extra sleep and see if your luck doesn’t turn around, you may even like yourself more when you wake up and be able to have clearer thoughts. Remember, Law of Attraction guarantees that our unconscious emotions give us the people and situations that show up in our lives; the good, the bad, the ugly – Sleep is the answer to a more positive existence.
Having Trouble Sleeping? – There is no one tried and true method and you may have to test some out and what works for me may not for you. Here are some you can try:
- I love a nice hot bath in a candlelit bathroom with the sweet and soothing smell of lavender; I also like it on my pillows.
- Disconnect from electronics – I make sure that I shut my phone off by 8:00 p.m. every night and my new phone even has a Do Not Disturb set for 8:00 p.m. to 11:00 a.m. each day. That may sound harsh, but I know that since I started doing that, I feel better. Try it for one week and see if your sleep improves.
- Warm Milk– I do not do this anymore, but my Grandfather would make me warm milk and Saltine Crackers with Blackberry Jam every night before bed. I think of it often and maybe I will try it again the next time I have a hard time falling asleep.
- Exercise– I go for at least two walks a day and I try to stay very active all day and hit 10,000 steps per day. Try not to exercise at least 2 hours before bed. This leaves me very tired by 8:00 p.m. every night and I aim to be asleep by 9:00, but then again, I am up at 4:30-5:00 a.m. everyday so I can check the Astrology for the day, pull a Tarot Card and Crystal, prep for the Weekly Wisdom, take care of many animals, do some yoga and get into the shower and out the door by 7:57 a.m. and arrive at my day job by 8:00 a.m. Whatever your lifestyle and schedule, it is always important to put yourself first.
- Eat healthy– The better the food that you put into your body and the frequency helps to balance out your adrenals and hormones; good food regulates your entire being and when you are well fed you will sleep better.
- Alcohol and sleep aids– they are not the answer, but I am not about to get preachy on those. For me, being healthy and pollutant free affords me to feel and sleep better and to tap into that Higher Realm, what I like to call my GPS.
- Keep it cool – lowering the temperature in your home will help you fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer.
- Oasis– turn your bedroom into an oasis. Remove all clutter and the TV, get the best foundation and sheets that you can afford. Make sure that you do not use the underneath of your bed to store things; Feng Shui says that creates inauspicious energy that affects your sleep and luck. Make your bed every morning and make the space more inviting to want to come to each evening. Soft lighting and pleasant smells, like lavender or vanilla help to soothe you into a peaceful slumber.
Sleep is so underrated, especially by those Type A achievers. To be the epitome of good health, pay attention to your body and rest it when you are tired and see your world turn around.
