2016 will be going out with one last roller coaster ride through the cosmos with a Full Cold Moon in Gemini/Cancer, Mercury takes one more backward move and goes Retrograde and we have the Solstice (Winter or Summer) depending on where you live; finally followed up with us all ringing in another New Year. This all feels like a perfect line up to me for this time of year because we have one last push to get rid of anything that no longer belongs, whether it is self limiting beliefs, unhealthy habits, too much clutter in your space or your mind, relationships that drain you – it all has to go now. I already can feel the fear in the energy out there building on top of anxiety, excitement, joy, glee and sadness; it is easy to feel the vibes of the masses. Many have the fear of new beginnings or of letting go of outworn situations, however, the Universe is funny that way as if you do not make the move to change, something will be sent your way to force you to change and purge the unwanted or unneeded. This Mercury Retrograde will give you some time to think back and mull over this year and allow you to take inventory, but you can get a jump start of the inventory list during the Full Moon in Gemini on December 13th. Gemini will allow your brain to process a lot; he gets you thinking. Make those lists, check them twice and be prepared for the Full Moon to move into emotional and watery Cancer on December 14th. This Moon can bring up some emotions that are buried deep and heartbreaking, it will also want you staying close to home and your loved ones.
Mercury Retrograde December 18th- 
The planet of communication, travel, thinking and electronics takes a backward swing for 3 weeks until January 8th, 2017. Starting out in Sagittarius could affect your beliefs and have you questioning exactly what do you believe in? By the Winter/Summer Solstice on December 21st the sun will move into Capricorn. This rules money, work habits, stability, patience and ambition could be challenged over these 3 weeks. Just take this time to rest, retreat, rejuvenate, re-estabilish a budget, remember loved ones passed, you know I always say anything with the prefix of “RE” -do that!
Yule, Jul, Mid-Winter also December 21st-
this is when holiday celebrations begin all around the world. This could be a solemn holiday due to the planet energies – most effected will be the Earth Signs of Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo (ruled by Mercury), but don’t leave out Gemini as she is ruled by Mercury. Just be sure to check reservation confirmations and keep a copy, double check travel arrangements and communications of all types and expect delays. If you are expecting money or a new job offer, expect delays on that as well. Lastly, do not start anything new during a Mercury Retrograde such as a relationship, job, signing of contracts or your New Year’s Resolutions – they won’t stick or stay after Mercury goes direct on January 8th; best to plan on making changes and wait until you get the green light direct on January 8th before you undertake anything new.
This week’s cards – Message, Death and Winter- really apropos for this time of year and the planets – expect a phone call, text, email message to come you way- it could be a profound life changing message. Also, pay attention to signs in nature such as animal totems and literal signs you see, synchronicities and coincidences – the veil is still thin through the Solstice so pay attention to your ancestors, spirit guides and angels to be sending you signs and messages too! Death and Winter hold much of the same energy; things are coming to an end and the Full Moon is helping you to let go. Some can expect a literal death and Winter and the Mercury Retrograde bring a pause to us all. Death and endings always bring new beginnings whether we can see it now or not; sometimes the pain in our hearts and heads over rules clear vision. Even those of us that believe that Death and Winter lead to new life find it difficult to accept when faced with such loss.
