Wasp has come buzzing into my life quite a bit lately and in several of your lives as well, via my monthly Tarotscopes for each Sign when I pulled your June Animal Totem Cards for the month, so I thought I would explore this little creature a bit more and see what The Wasp’s message has for us.
First and foremost, a Wasp is not a bee and is closely related to the ant, yet, is not an ant either, but a hybrid of the two. If I think of those two Totems, we have a message of accomplishing the impossible and the need for teamwork; also both are there to remind us of our incredible strength.
But, I am all too familiar with the stingers that the Wasps carry and their ability to sting repeatedly, without A) losing their stinger or B) dying, therefore they can inflict a great amount of pain over and over again.
So, let’s ask ourselves, what or who in our lives is creating pain unto us (you), over and over again. And why have you not killed that little fucker by now? Or for that matter, ended the situation?
Well, I have killed off at least one invasive annoyance that has caused me an insurmountable amount of pain and heartache; she, the sister who shall never be named is dead to me. I know it sounds harsh, but if you have lived and grew up with this evil and vile wasp, you would understand; and actually, being dead to me is the uttermost kindness that I can bestow upon an enemy.
Now, the other banes of my existence, Bamboo and my day job. Without a plethora of financial resources, I will toil away at both until I can afford to kill those two evil and vile enemies!
In all seriousness, those were just examples of what The Wasp could mean; as with any Animal Totem. One must observe the animal and learn a bit about them and discover their behavior and how that can incorporate into our every day lives. Take The Wasp for instance; I have real Wasps making another nest under the eaves of my office windows, so they are making their presence known and this is the second year they have decided to take up residence at my home, so I must pay attention and find out what their message is and what it is that I am missing.
Traditionally, The Wasp Animal Totem wants us to express ourselves more freely and clearly and to ask for what it is we truly desire. Apropos for the Sun being in Gemini since Gemini is the Communicator, never been a better time than right now. Simply thinking and dreaming about what you want will not bring your dreams and thoughts into reality, unless they are negative thoughts which almost seem to automatically manifest when we least desire them to do so. Watch the Wasp build a nest and they keep working at the nest little by little with great perseverance until the job is complete. The Wasp also reminds us that all things are possible and that resistance to change is futile and self sabotaging and that surrender is your best defense. Going with the flow is much easier and more comfortable.
Although Wasps can be quite social, they are very good and proficient at being independent. They are non-committal romantically or cannot bother themselves with long term relationships. Due to their independent thinking, they spend the majority of their time alone, trudging along and getting tasks done; they are happy doing their own thing and doing what they like and when they choose. Sounds like me!
If The Wasp has come flying into your life, it is time to stand up, take a good look at yourself and your life and ask if you are pursuing worthwhile pursuits and dreams? Are you spending your time wisely? Are your pursuits worth your time? If they are, then keep working at them, if not, drop them and pursue something worthwhile. Something that fills your soul with light and joy; something that makes your heart sing.
Now, look at this face. It appears The Wasp is wearing a mask. This Wasp is asking if you too are wearing a mask. Are you covering up your true feelings and desires? Are you being Authentic? I wear a mask during the day, to fulfill my financial needs and then I take that mask off and become my authentic self right here, in my home, here at Expressions. This face and body are robed in two colors, yellow and black, two sides of the self, the light and the dark, the light and the shadow; something that each of us contain and should wear with honor. It is a balanced yin and yang. The Yellow symbolizing (to me) happiness and joy and the Black symbolizing protection, boundaries and death unto trespassers.
One final reminder, whatever it is that you may be looking for in life; whether it be love, romance, money, joy, happiness, a new home, a family or good health; wishing and dreaming alone will not get you those desires, only applying yourself in some way, any way, getting yourself out into situations that will assist you in creating your dreams and turning them into a reality, taking those tiny steps each day and allowing The Wasp to fly around you, pushing and encouraging you to pursue those dreams and wishes. Now get up off the sofa and go fly!
