The magical moment so many have been waiting for is upon us. I am talking about the coming together (conjunction) of Saturn and Jupiter on the Solstice December 21, 2020.
If you are one of the few that have not noticed these planets in the sky each evening, now is your chance! They have been occupying our celestial landscape all year, coming closer and closer together each evening. Some believe that this conjunction will form one large “Christmas Star” or a replica of the Star of Bethlehem. My calculations show that there will still be a slight separation, 1/60th of a degree to be exact at 5:15 p.m. Eastern Standard Time (calculate for your time zone). Timing is everything; well that and the weather. This beauty can be seen right at Sunset and for about an hour following. Looking to the South Western skies as it descends quickly below the horizon. As of yesterday, our skies here in Southeastern Pennsylvania have begun to cloud over. My last and most recent photo is below. In looking at the Astronomical Forecast for my area, it is very possible that I will not be able to view this historical event and that saddens me, yet I am grateful to have viewed it at this proximity. I am not giving up hope though as the forecasts this week were not favorable and I was still able to get a peek and a pic or two as these illuminous celestial bodies peered through the cloud cover just the same. Be patient and keep looking.

You may ask: “Why is this historical or so important?” Well, there are several answers. One, although these two planets conjunct, or come together every 20 years, they have not been this close to each other since 1623 as per Johannes Kepler. a German Astronomer, Mathematician and Astrologer b.1571 d.1630. Although there have been some close conjunctions, they were too close to the Sun to be visible.
Two, this begins a 200 year social era and age of “Air” (with the exception of Saturn and Jupiter conjunct in Libra (Air Sign) in 1981; previously their conjunctions have all been in Earth Signs for the last 200 years. More on that in a minute.
Three, this historical even occurring on the Solstice. It is not exactly known how long, if ever, this conjunction has occurred on one of the world points and Solstice, which brings more power of the shift in energies that are opening up a new era for us all.
Four – the next time this will be visible will be 2080. Only the very young during this time will be able to observe this for a second time in their lifetime!
Is this really the Christmas Star or the Star of Bethlehem? Research shows that is technically is NOT, but it is. It is because it is appearing very close to Christmas. It is not because looking back historically, the Star of Bethlehem, which lead the Three Wise Kings or “Magi” to Bethlehem, was most likely a conjunction between Venus and Jupiter around 8 or 7 BC. Venus and Jupiter are two of the brightest celestial bodies we have on Earth due to their closer proximity to Earth. If they were to come together the way Saturn and Jupiter are this year, it would be quite the spectacle. You can see Venus every morning right now just before Sunrise and looking to the East. She is glorious. To note, she sometimes is a morning star and sometimes and evening star and there is another whole mythological story behind that and whether how being born under the morning or evening star adds additional layers to our own birth charts as well…. for another time.
Now, just because this particular combination is “most likely” not the same as the Star of Bethlehem, does not take away from its importance historically. With these planets recently moving into the Sign of Aquarius, it brings a dose of Hope nonetheless to all humanity.
The New Era – the Age of Air versus the Age of Earth-
For the last 200 years, these conjunctions have been in Earth Signs; Taurus, Virgo and Capricorn. They brought the theme of stability, building, structure, infrastructure, establishment; which includes governments, hierarchies, religion= basically control.
This new Age of Air, beginning with Aquarius and will be followed by the other Air Signs of Gemini and Libra over the next 200 years brings a breath of fresh air, freedom, ideas, unity, hope and innovations.
These shifts in energy may have been felt by YOU. Following some very powerful Eclipses, the energy has been disorienting for many. We have moved from feet firmly planted on the ground, to flying above the clouds and floating. We may not feel “grounded” at the present time as we integrate the new energy. Feeling as though something big is happening and moving forward, yet not knowing exactly to where. We could be very confused during these times and it is best to just slow it down, rest and let everything integrate.
We are moving away from the material and into the ethereal. Many are ready to shed that old skin away and move into who they truly are at the core as a Soul or Spirit Being; many will resist and want to hold on to the old ways of Capricorn; the materialism and control or being controlled. Resistance is painful, surrender to freeing.
This Aquarian energy is that of Unity and Humanity, Conservation, Equality, REvoloution, Sovereignty.
WE can see the old regimes flopping and floundering around the shores like a fish out of water. Gasping for the Air, yet still attached to the ground; similar to the amphibians that came crawling out of the Water Era, grew legs, gills turned into lungs, yet many are still stuck in that evolutionary phase of Water/Earth – Governments, Banking and Finance, organized Religion and Churches. People hold on to what they know and Fear what they do not; some let go and jump off the cliff looing for truth and a better way towards personal freedom (Sovereignty) Self Autonomy once they realize the old regime is that of perpetual slavery for the betterment of the few in power. All of that is going bye bye!
Look to see where 0 degrees Aquarius is in your birth chart to discover where the biggest shifts will be in your life. The chart below give us a good idea of the themes of the shifts. For example, 0 degrees Aquarius is in between or on the cusp of my 7th and 8th Houses. Initially it will effect my 7th House and later in life move into my 8th House. Therefore, I know and I can feel it, that the relationships in my life are changing and I have them under the microscope presently.
For those of you wondering – the Solstice will occur on December 21st 2020 at 5:02 a.m Eastern Standard Time – adjust for your own time zone. The Solstice in the Northern Hemisphere, also known as the Winter Solstice is the longest night and lasts for three (3) days leading up to Christmas Eve. We light candles, fires and Christmas lights to bring back to light in a celebration and to symbolize the days becoming longer come December 24th and leading up to the Summer Solstice on June 21st.
Conversely, down in the Southern Hemisphere, they are celebrating Summer Solstice, the longest day! That too lasts for three (3) days and their days begin to shorten leading up to June 21st or their Winter Solstice.
I have to be honest, living in only the Northern Hemisphere my entire life, I cannot relate to the opposite Solstices and Equinoxes throughout the year. Especially because of the holiday symbolizations associated with these events and the fact that these celebrations were originated by the Pagans, Druids and Celts in the Northern Hemisphere and then migrated South and were adjusted henceforth. I do however, like to be respectful that those in the Southern Hemisphere are also celebrating, but differently that what I have celebrated my entire life. I personally cannot imagine celebrating Summer Solstice on Christmas or Ostara during the Autumn or even Samhain during the Spring; to me the traditional symbolization does not line up. The true meaning of these celebrations do not translate to the Southern Hemisphere, yet, I wish for all to celebrate whatever it is wherever you are. The energy of celebration alone lifts the vibrational energy of the planet.
This Weekly Wisdom is a repeat from last week, 2 hours chock full of goodness and card readings. It is also time stamped!
Happy Solstice to you all.
