The Sun in Gemini
May 21-June 21
The sun is Finally in my Sun Sign of Gemini. I am hoping that the Sun’s energy will counteract the Mercury Retrograde right now in Gemini as the energy has been effecting me big time since my Sun, Rising or Ascendant, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter are all in Gemini. I am a well-rounded Gemini and most people that know or meet me think they are dealing with 10 or 12 people at the same time.
First let me address the Mercury Retrograde in Gemini through June 11th. Since MRx is in the Air Sign of Gemini, it will have a stronger effect on Geminis, but also those with Air Signs or Gemini in your charts. I have 5 aspects in Gemini so I am being hit 5 times harder than most and my energy has been so way off this week. It has been a struggle for me to maintain my usual glib attitude. My best solution has been hot salt baths, earthing, sleeping, resting, relaxing, revisiting issues, retreating, rejuvenating and did I mention resting? Needless to say, if I look around my home, it looks like a bomb went off and I need to regain my composure and that is why I am so happy that the Sun is now Finally in Gemini.
With the Sun being back in my birth Sign I am hoping to regain my glib, my gumption. Looking for a boost in my energy levels and my usual joyous nature. With Gemini being in 5 aspects of my chart, I am eager to utilize the Sun’s energy to balance out this Mercury Retrograde.
Consequently, I have been on a few websites that list the attributes to what a Gemini is all about. Let’s compare the typical lists:
Symbolized by the Twins, Geminis are said to have a dual nature of two personalities, great conversationalists, multi-taskers, non-committal, intellectual, individualistic, flexible, changeable and adaptive. All true and there are negative traits as well, such as, Superficial, silly, glib, gossipy, overbearing intellect, unfocused, overextended, nervous, excitable, unemotional, cold, unconcerned, scattered and careless. All true again, though I feel that as the Gemini matures, they learn how to balance everything out and only the best of them shines through.
New Year’s resolutions are typically made on January 1st, conversely, for the astrologer, the New Year starts on their birthday; when the Sun returns to their exact time of birth. This is when we get to look back on the previous year and make resolutions, revisit the highlights of the previous year and decide what direction to take in the coming year. I like to look at my chart for the year ahead and look for opportunities in the different aspects of my chart and prepare myself for the possible negative energies as well, like Mercury Retrogrades, so that I can make the best of them. Gemini is ruled by Mercury, so no matter what Sign the Retrograde is in, it still effects Gemini in addition to Virgo who is ruled by Mercury too. Just the same, I like to celebrate and hit the reset button and start fresh with bright, wide open eyes hopeful for what the New Year will bring to me.
We can all benefit from the Sun entering Gemini. It is time to pick up the pace, meet new people, try new things and travel to new places. It is a time for intellectual curiosity and a time to be more social. Coming off of the grounding and earthy Taurus energy we should all be ready to wear lighter, brighter clothing, try some new foods, visit some museums or go on those long awaited foreign vacations. Our hearts are filled with excitement of what the summer may bring. Time for celebrations, laughter and folly.
Take full advantage of everything that the Sun in Gemini can bring to your life and the Gemini motto for the next month should be “Let Your Freak Flag Fly”!
