To the Winds of the North
Siwar Q’enti, Royal Hummingbird
Be with me, Teach me to see with the
eyes of the soul, to stand in the eye of the storm fearless,
and to have the courage to take my own epic
journey. Remind me to drink only
from the sweet nectars of life that
provide nourishment to my body, mind, and soul.
Grandmothers and Grandfathers,
Ancient Ones, Guardians and
Keepers of this land, come warm
your hands by our fire, whisper to
me in the wind. I honor you who
have come before me and you who
will come after me, our children’s children.
A powerful Full Moon Fire Ceremony last night brought the Royal Hummingbird to me and guided me to the winds of the North and bringing forth my Grandmothers, Grandfathers, my Mother, her Sisters; all Ancestors, Ancient One, Guardians, Keepers and Guides to remind me to stand in the eye of the storm, stand tall, strong and proud. To remind me to stop drinking from the nectars that do not provide my body, mind and soul with nourishment. That alone is the biggest lesson this year; to stop drinking from poisoned waters.
I love how my Shaman reminding me of the incredible and what should be an impossible journey of the Hummingbird and its migration. The tiny, mighty-mights should not be able to complete a journey of thousands of miles twice a year, yet they can and they do because they only drink from the waters and nectars that will provide them assured nourishment. They instinctually, intuitively know where the sweets nectars and most refreshing waters are from high in the sky. They swoop down to take a sip to provide sustenance to carry them along this incredible journey. They do not have the luxury to waste any time searching for what they need as their tiny bodies burn so many calories they must remain present and focused to find only that which will nourish otherwise wasted time equals assured death and failure to reach their destination. Royal Hummingbird, Siwar Q’enti reminded me that I waste too much time in pools full of toxicity; toxic places and toxic people that do not nourish me, slow me down, hinder me on my journey and stymie me along my path. Shiny distractions that have been junk, not treasure.
We often nourish ourselves in places out of fear and perceived obligations causing our hearts pain, and dis-ease. Life should be challenging, yet filled with ease. My Shaman, upon clearing any “Hoocha” (hoocha refers to dark or dense energy inside and outside of your selves) from me, whispered the my key words for my Solar Return – “Connection”, “Gratitude” and “Ease”. I will carry this in my heart and aspire to live by these words. I was guided to the Winds of the North and by Royal Hummingbird to follow my True North, my Compass and to not allow myself to be poisoned by any Hoocha that will not fill my soul. Aho Mitakuye Oyasin (All my relations) Thank you for this Life.
