looking for signs
Are you seeing the signs that The Universe and Spirit is sending your way every day to guide you in the right direction or to give you an invisible hug of reassurance to say ” I heard you, here I am”? I am sharing my signs from Friday to help you, the reader to notice some of the crazy signs that you too might receive from loved ones when you need it the most. I have written about signs before – feathers, dimes here signs and I periodically like to show you some of the signs that I get because I KNOW you are probably getting them too, but are you noticing them?
This past Friday and friend of mine and I were talking and in that conversation she mentioned that she was on her way to her friend’s Mother’s funeral during our lunch break. We started speaking of our own Mothers and how much each of us missed our Mothers and how difficult it is to lose our Mothers. It is a pain and longing ache that never leaves you. We both proceed to leave for our lunch breaks and on my short two mile trip home to leave the dogs out I was caught in unusual amount of traffic. I turned on the radio and a song is playing that I do not recall every hearing. The name of the band is “Can” – never heard of them, but I think “Yes, I CAN do whatever it is my heart desires”. Giving myself positive affirmations every chance I get to keep my vibration on a high playing level. I notice that the vehicle I am waiting behind has a bumper sticker with the word MUM written on it. It brings a painful smile to my face as I think about the conversation I just had and I declare that “Yes, yes I do miss my MUM”. The light and traffic line is taking much longer than usual, giving me more time to ponder. As I am listening to this unknown song on the radio I am prompted to look at the name of the song and I click my antiquated version of Sirius and prompt the title screen and the word MOTHER appears on the screen. I grab my phone to snap a photo of not only that, but the MUM sticker in front of me. My radar is up and on high alert. This is more than just coincidental. I have to laugh to myself and say out loud “O.K. Mom are you letting me know that you heard me”? Just then a truck pulls up to the right side of me and that is when I was truly amazed and confirmed that, yes, she indeed is sending me Signs.
The truck that pulled up along side of me had the words “Bruce’s Used Auto Parts”. May seem like nothing to the unseeing, however, Bruce is what my entire family calls my Mother. As strange and weird as it may sound to you, that was her nickname. Growing up during the 70’s in New Hope Pennsylvania allowed me a childhood where my God-Parents were Drag Queens, our family was open to other forms of Spirituality and freedom to have an open heart while the rest of the world was closed off and judgmental. My Mother chose to be called Bruce (a common Drag Queen name) instead of Grandmother and so it was; my Mother was a Bruce to all of her Grandchildren. So when the Bruce truck pulled up beside me after the MUM bumper sticker and the unknown MOTHER song on the radio, all within about 30 seconds I had to take it all in as signs that She was sending to me.

Maybe I/We see signs the kid ourselves and make things feel better than they really are. Maybe it is our creative minds that conjure and connect signs as a form of soothing salve to paste on our broken hearts; to assist us and give us hope to continue on “thinking” that we are being watched over. Whatever you believe, this is my belief and yes this makes me feel better and it does give me hope that I am being watched over. Maybe it is just coincidence that these three Signs aligned perfectly within a matter of seconds and maybe I will just stick to what my daughter always says about coincidences “There is no such thing as a coincidence; everything is Serendipity, perfectly aligned for us to find our way to our Destiny”.
