Seahorse Spirit says Watch and Wait! Yes, much like the Koala earlier this week, we are still having to exercise some patience and observe. We are standing back from any drama or turbulence that is swirling around us. As I mentioned in the Weekly Wisdom, this theme correlates to the adage “Not My Circus, Not My Monkeys”.Our ability to remain calm is challenged as Chiron (The Wounded Healer of Past Life Wounds) and True Lilith (Life’s Fears) surface in fiery Aries causing anxiety and temper tantrums, horn honking and impatience that boils over. It feels as though many cannot control their emotions and that is exactly what Seahorse is asking us to do. Those running around on fire want to include us in their tsunami, sucking us into the fray; do not let it happen. Take a breath, remain still and gracefully bow out as we are sensitive and not in any shape to handle those choppy waters in our present state.
Seahorses have long been considered a Good Luck Charm and they were carried in the pockets of sailors to ensure a safe journey, or should they meet their death at sea, they believed the Seahorse would carry them to the underworld safely. Seahorses provided the feeling of being safe and secure, especially when we are feeling small and insignificant, recently heartbroken, doubting, wondering ; they give us the ability to sit back and wait for the next move; providing to us what we need in the wake of sudden changes, navigating us ever so gently on the next path or destination after a major change or upheaval.
The Greeks named this little beast the Hippocampus (sea horse monster) and similarly named a part of the human brain that holds memories, history, Past Lives, our pleasures and our pains and were honored for these mystical treasures they are said to hold. They are believed to be able to travel back and forth from the Earth Plane and the Ether World or Underworld with ease; holding onto our memories and Past Lives for safe keeping.
Beautiful, tiny whimsical creatures, holding the mysteries of life and love; they are said to mate for life and also accomplish the impossible in a human world, where they males carry and deliver the babies; mother and father work as a team.
A Seahorse’s diminutive size, bony structure and tiny fins makes for poor swimmers; they are best just floating with the current, using their tails as an anchor during rough seas – a fantastical symbolism for a human to incorporate when the Seahorse come floating by them; go with the flow, stay nearest to the calm waters and if need be, anchor down, stand your ground and wait out the storms until clear skies bring more tranquil currents. Seahorses are patient, persistent and serene asking us to pause for a moment, take a break, take a breath, gain perspective when storms are brewing around us. I write this a s a personal reminder to keep a Seahorse with me so that when the skies cloud over, I can look at the little sea beast and remember “Serenity Now”; another mantra.
As I write this, we are in the final days of Virgo Season 2019; balancing Libra very nearby, but currently, I witness the turbulence around me. Impatience, angry selfishness seems to be all around us; not the integrous Virgo that we should be experiencing; bearing witness to whom is out of integrity and who is not, who is out of balance and will surely be challenged come Libra Season when the scales will force one to balance; Seahorse is a creature of calm integrity, balanced, just patiently waiting for his next move towards his future- he is in no rush, he wants to ensure the path and place he is choosing is right for him; it is worth his while to wait.
Embrace Seahorse Spirit as you calm and center yourselves before the change of the Season. Gain perspective of where you are coming from and where you are wanting to go; if you are unsure of your next destination, just hover a little longer, there is no rush- whatever is meant for you will still be waiting there and ready for you when you are ready for it!
