New Moon in Earthy Taurus May 18, 2015 @ 5:13 a.m. GMT
It is that Magical time of the month again when we have a great opportunity to ground ourselves in the Earthy Taurus New Moon tonight before Mercury goes Retrograde. This is a time to hunker down at home as Venus Ruled Taurus, Venus is currently in Cancer (ruled by the Moon) and brings that need to be home. Get yourself rooted and grounded in Mother Earth today. Go outside and walk around barefoot, work in the garden, go for a walk in the forest. The energy beginning tomorrow will be that of rest, retreat, rejuvenation, release, regeneration; no better place to do it than at home.
When the New Moon, or No Moon, comes, it gives us a time to think about what we want to manifest into our lives. I always liken it to the magical reset button of our energy. It occurs, like clockwork, every two weeks following the Full Moon and it is a time of reflection before the Moon waxes Full once again.
So what is it you want to manifest? Make a list of your wishes. Some people who practice a New Moon ritual will either burn their list in a fire on the New Moon, some like to hold onto their list and burn it on a Full Moon and then release it out into the Universe. I have done it both ways and I have had some pretty amazing things come to me when I burn my list on the New Moon. Some also like to write themselves a check, for abundance, and burn the check in the fire to allow that money flow back to them.
In my personal experience I recall one particular New Moon, last summer, where my daughter and I both wrote our lists. We had some friends over for a fire pit evening. Unbeknownst to them, we grabbed our lists, read them to ourselves and placed them into the fire to release our wishes out into the Universe. Two days later, I am standing at the register of my favorite crystal shop and my mobile phone rings. It is my daughter saying she had exciting news about a financial grant she received for school. I intuitively saw the number $1,500, it turns out that it was for $1,550. I did not know that she had written on her wish list that she needed $1,500 for tuition and it came through. She was not aware that I had written that I wanted $100,000 dollars for home improvements. We only share our wishes with the Universe. Three more days pass and she receives another letter in the mail offering her a scholarship, to her choice University, in the amount of $100,000.00. I was ecstatic as my wish had come true as well! Now, you may be thinking, “Hey Kim, you wished for $100,000.00 for home improvements”. True, but he is a little caveat to manifesting: You have to release control over the way your wish shows up for you. Although, I had wished for home improvement money, the $100,000.00 had shown up, which technically freed up my money and therefore I could spend more of my own disposable cash on home improvements since I would not have to be paying tuition. So, go ahead and make all of the wishes you want just do not put a time frame on them or specific conditions on how it will show up. In addition, be very careful of what you wish for because it may not show up how you envisioned and some of the consequences may make you unhappy if something is taken away from someone you care for in order for you to have your wish come true. There is a fine balance to manifesting.
Like I have mentioned in my article about Full Moon fire ceremony, not everyone has access to outdoor space to build a fire. You can light a candle for either New Moon or Full Moon. You can burn your list in your kitchen sink, your tub or a large bowl or pot. Just be sure to practice mindful safety when burning inside of your home. Shamans believe that fire is the quickest way to manifest, but you do not want to be burning down your entire home or apartment complex in order to collect that insurance check so you can start with all brand new items….once again…think ahead of possible consequences.
So go forth, manifest, ground yourself, retreat, relax and be at one in your home, your garden and allow this New Moon set the stage for Monday’s Mercury Retrograde.
