Mercury Retrograde RE
Once again, we are in the shadow of yet another Mercury Retrograde. It does not have to be horrible, but here is some important information about Mercury Retrograde and some helpful tips to help you glide through this with the lightest of ease. More importantly, Pluto is in Capricorn, Neptune is in Pisces and Uranus is in Aries for the first time in decades and millennium.
The Planet Mercury goes into a Retrograde, or backward motion, typically 3 times a year. This year we will have 4 and in 2016 all of the Retrogrades are in Earth Signs, with the exception of our first one that begins in the Air Sign of Aquarius, they are all mainly in our Earth Signs. What this means to me is that those whose were born in the Earth Signs of Capricorn, Taurus and Virgo will be the most affected. Those whose Rising Signs, Moon, Mercury, Venus or Mars that were in Earth Signs when they were born will also feel the pull of these retrogrades a little more strongly.
Last year the retrogrades were in the Air Signs of Aquarius, Gemini and Libra and in 2013 they were all in the Water Signs of Pisces, Cancer and Scorpio. Below are the dates for 2016. 2017 will also have the retrogrades in Earth Signs again. Earth Signs can be stubborn and sometimes take a little longer to get lesson, so maybe this is a good thing. 2018 Mercury Retrograde will visit the Fire Signs of Aries, Leo and Sagittarius, 2019 we will be back in Water and 2020 we will be back in Air.

January 5 – January 25, 2016 starts in Aquarius, ends in earth Capricorn
April 28 – May 22, 2016 in earth sign Taurus
August 30 – September 22, 2016 in earth sign Virgo
December 19 2016 – January 8, 2017 in earth Capricorn to late degree fire Sagittarius
Eventhough, Mercury is visiting Earth Signs this year, does not mean that everyone else gets to skate away Scott Free. Mercury is the planet of communication, travel, electronics, contracts and relationships. Expect mix ups, delays and breakdowns in these areas.
When it comes to communication I always recommend that you double check your texts and emails before hitting the send button. Check to make sure it is going to the intended recipient. If you have a very important message that must be sent be sure to follow up on the receipt of that message. Chances are the delivery could be delayed and could affect an important outcome.
My advice for Travel is do not travel during this time, but that is just plain ridiculous in this day and age, so like my advice for communication, double and triple check your reservations (especially if they were made on line). I like to not only print out all of confirmations, I email them to myself as well. I am not taking any chances during this time. Also, allow plenty of time to get to the airport or just driving in general. Auto accidents and breakdowns are common during Mercury Retrogrades.
Electronics, such as computers and your phones may act wonky and slow during a Mercury Retrograde. You may have never even noticed that Mercury was in Retrograde when you were having computer issues, but now that you are aware, pay attention and see if this is true. This mostly seems to happen in the workplace, which only delays getting projects and work done – typical Mercury Retrograde. Instead of getting frustrated, you can sit back and laugh knowing what the root cause is.
As far as Contracts are concerned, you never want to sign a contract for anything during a Mercury Retrograde. The words in the contract could appear o.k. at first, but after Mercury goes direct, you will interpret them differently and it may not be a situation that is beneficial to you and you may have some regrets.
The issues with Contracts is a great segue to speak about relationships and Mercury Retrograde. Never get married during a Mercury Retrograde as the Contract you are making with this other person and the promises that are made during the ceremony will not be solid or solidified once Mercury goes direct. I also recommend never going on a first date or starting a new relationship when Mercury is in its backward motion. My daughter knows better than anyone what my modality and beliefs are, she has grown up with me teaching this, yet she started 3 relationships recently over the last few years, despite my advice. They were wonderful relationships, they swept her off her feet and I even thought that these men could possibly be my Son-In-Law, I was fooled as well for once Mercury went direct, the relationships weirdly and quickly ended with almost no explanation at all. I knew the explanation, Mercury Retrograde.
You do not have to be a believer, but you can be an observer. Take a look at the dates and be consciously aware of what is going on around you and even you may be able to see the pattern of the energy of this powerful planet.

So what will this Earth energy Retrograde be focused on you may ask? Earth signs are very focused, materialistic, stubborn. Careers and employment, perfectionism, getting the job done. Earth signs are very much about control. Earth represents practicality, stability, materialism, realism. Practical and dependable, earth signs provide the resources necessary for the functions of life. There is usually a deep affinity with nature. Earth signs are the builders of long-lasting structures. So expect any issues to lay around these energies. A lot of change is coming in our lives, sure tangible things in our lives will change this year. Also, expect a huge economic change in our Countries or World this year. People will be changing their minds about big issues and changing the rules on how we are all living.
Pluto is also in Capricorn for the first time since the American Revolution and we see what happened then, the making of the United States of America. Neptune is in Pisces for the first time since the Civil War and there was much contention back then, however, this aspect to me would suggest that many people are blinded by what is happening around them and they are living in a dream world of delusion. Also, the biggest aspect is Uranus in Aries and the last time this occurred was during the Great Depression. There is planned to be a radically different year ahead for all of us, no matter where you live; but people have been wanting some big changes in the world, it will be an upheaval for those that feel there is nothing wrong in our world today.
