They say a picture is worth a thousand words and this picture is exactly that for me. Those eyes, that bond; the love in this photo melts my icy heart and brings salty tears to my eyes and snot running from my nose. I can hardly look at this picture because its beauty is slightly painful to see the abundance of love shown here. The love wells up within me and has no place to go, so it burns through my heart. Those eyes are like a vast ocean that holds the answers to every question ever asked if you stare at them long enough
Meet April the Giraffe; the girl that has grabbed the attention and hearts of millions
of people around the world and her favorite keeper, Allysa. To say that I have spent dozens of hours watching this beautiful, awe inspiring creature is an understatement. I have lost sleep while keeping watch on the impending birth of her fourth most awaited calf since the live stream has been available, courtesy of Animal Adventure Park, where April and her mate Oliver reside, located in Harpursville, NY. This morning, as I write this blog, I have the YouTube window open to my left and I watch April and Oliver enjoy some treats through an interactive puzzle feeder and I gush at the cuteness. Having just read a very negative article from a source that I will not mention, I felt it my duty to spread a good word and positivity about what Jordan Patch, owner of Animal Adventure Park, is doing to create a beautiful and safe home for the conservation of animals; one where people can visit and interact with these glorious creatures. They have given me and millions of others countless hours of free “entertainment” and deserve the love and support from the world.

To say that I am obsessed would also be an understatement. April and Oliver have been a most welcomed diversion from everyday life. They have kept me centered and focused on what is truly important in this world and that is Love. I keep the live stream up on one of my computer screens at work; where co-workers stop by and check in on the progress. They are all aware that I have signed up for the Labor Text Alert System and periodically ask me “Any Updates”? I have encouraged them to sign up so they too can gain exclusive content and information. They know I am keeping a watchful eye on April. It has become a lighthearted way for me and my co-workers to share in something very special. We are even planning a trip up to Harpursville, NY to visit once they open for the season in May 2017. When I go home, I log in and keep her streaming; I do not want to miss a moment.
