Has the Goose flown into your life or into your dreams lately? Well then, you are in luck because Goose is a very good omen.
Recently, I dreamt of a Goose trying to save me from a little Kiwi bird-like create that was hiding underneath a bush. The Goose, similar as the Canadian Goose in the picture above, grabbed me by my sleeve that hit at the elbow and she began tugging to pull me backward and away from the creature; she was protecting me. I petted her head; the smooth, lush black feathers felt so good in my hand. She was calm and gracious, unlike their usual squawking and honking. Upon waking, I had a strong sensation that this little goose was my dog that had recently passed away coming back to me to let me know that she is still here protecting me as she used to tug my sleeve also. This Goose also comes with other messages that are important to pay attention to.
I look back on this past Spring to the pair of Canadian Geese that came nesting near my day job. This was the second year this pair returned and I would like to think it is the same couple as they tend to return to the same breeding grounds year after year and occupy the same nest they previously used. If you just be still and observe a goose couple, you will notice the loving behavior they have for each other. They never leave each other’s side for long or go too far from each other. Even if they are flying in a flock during migration and a fellow member of the group is injured or ill, one other goose will stay with the other goose until he/she has either healed or passed on; they never leave their side, caring for that goose at all costs. They healer goose will then rejoin the flock once with the recovered comrade or by himself, after a period of bereavement. They protect each other and they can become very vocal and aggressive if their flock is threatened. Just watch how they rear their young goslings; they never leave them out of their site, both parents accompanying the babies on all their learning journeys; do not get to close to this family or you will be sorry. These geese stand over 3 feet tall and they will give a honk or hissing warning and then they will come after you and kick your ass! It truly was magical this Spring watching my little goose family of 7 love and care for each other and made me feel hopeful that maybe someday I could have someone that care for me in kind.
