A new year awaits us and we have a crazy year of Astrological and Astronomical events ahead of us; I am already tired and overwhelmed by what lies ahead. Below I have 13 Full Moons, 12 New Moons and the 8 Planets that will Retrograde for 2020. The Full Moons of March and April will bring us Super Moons, increasing the power and energy of those Moons, and, the Blue Moon on Halloween is an extra added bonus. With so much moving energy, we are sure to have a big year full of changes and transitions.
Full Moons are glorious, beautiful orbs of light that shine down upon the Earth and illuminate what is hidden from sight as does the energy of the Full Moons bring out the truth behind the shadows. Full Moons are a perfect time to reveal what needs to be seen, accept what is and discard what is no longer serving a purpose; whether it be tangible material “things”, people or outworn thoughts and emotions. We will have 13 chances this year to cleanout our proverbial closets. Full Moons bring our emotions to the hilt of the surface so that we can examine our issues. The Full Moons cause sleep disturbances, entice overindulgence, have us checking out of reality and into a superman dream like state, which in turn causes accidents when we are not in touch with our own reality. Full Moons provide so much energy to our soft bodies that we sometimes feel invincible with 60% of the human body being made up of water; the Moon controls the tides of our Earth’s water bodies so it makes sense that the phases of the Moon will also effect our human body; pushing and pulling, tugging on every cell contained within us. Get in tune with these tides and discover yourself on a cellular and mental level. The Full Wolf Moon on January 10th, 2020 @ 2:21 p.m. EST will be the first of the year; super boosted by a Prenumbral Lunar Eclipse. This Eclispe wil only be seen in Australia, Asia, Africa and some parts of Europe, but will have an effect on the entire World. Lunar Eclipses, in my experience, harshly kill off what we didn’t have the guts to do ourselves, they take the blinders of illusion off and force us to deal with situations and people that we have chosen to ignore for too long. Maybe not as brutally at first, but after a series (like this year) of these Eclipses (like 2018) the tower will fall, so to speak, if we do not address and deal with what lies in the shadow of our psyche, in the shadow in the closet, the shadow of rotten food in the refrigerator (metaphorically) – you get the idea. The Wolf cries out, in hunger, waiting or looking for a good meal; his cries out to the pack in hopes one calls back with a fresh kill to be feasted upon. What is it that you are crying out for? What is it that you are hungry for? How long has it been? What broken, damaged or rotten thing is taking up space and preventing us from bringing in a replacement? These are some of the questions we should be asking ourselves with the Full Wolf Moon.
New Moons, also known as Dark Moons or No Moon, give us a new starting point; a place to wipe our slates clean and begin anew. Wishes and intentions are made during a New Moon; a new beginning.
Retrogrades give us an opportunity to slow down and revisit issues or lessons that need another look before moving forward in life. So many Astrologers make Retrogrades sound like death and doom, but I actually welcome the Retrogrades because it forces us to look at those issues so that we can move on and start fresh; just like the New Moons. That is not to say they are all easy; anything we avoid is not easy when it is brought to the surface and shoved in our faces. If we take this Retrogrades for what they are (explanations are listed with the dates) and focus on those areas just think of what 2021 could possibly bring! I use the Retrogrades as an invitation to reflect, contemplate, slow down, turn it down, relax, receive and reinvent myself. If we all could see them in a positive light, then, that is what they will be!
The Eclipses illuminate and super boost the Moons; be it Full or New. They shine the light and remove the blinders; they charge us and give us the gumption needed for change. They can be volatile and brutal, harsh and heartbreaking, but anything that does not kill us makes us stronger (HA) or harder and more bitter; the Eclipses shape us whether we see that in a good way or a detrimental way, it just is. 2020 brings us six where there are typically four. To me this is the Universe’s way of forcing us to transition, change and align to our true purpose. 2020 will prove to be a year full of endings, changes, deaths, transformations, births, rebirths, awakenings and some of us will just stay stuck in the chaos of the outer world; this is a year to go within.
