Mostly everyone would love a backyard like the one pictured above or just a nice zen area that you can relax and entertain in especially during the Summer months when celebrations are underway; budget stifles many, but you can create a beautiful space with a little creativity, ingenuity and Feng Shui principals.
Take a look at this Bagua or Feng Shui map. Picture your outdoor space as this layout. Use some of the elements in the places as shown on the map to lay out your own space. For example- a good place for a fire pit or bar-b-que would be in the Fame Reputation Sector, directly across from that maybe a small water feature in the Career Path in Life Sector. Some trees, bushes or plants in the Family Sector to help your Family flourish and grow. I would do some seating spaces right in the middle. You get the idea and it does not have to cost a lot of money. You can start out small; the key is to balance it and not overly clutter your spaces. You want a nice flow and space for the energy and people to move in it and through it. If you can fit it in your budget, create walkways and paths to move from space to space .
I would place little twinkly lights and
candles out side too like this- keep it simple, inviting and fun! Enjoy the Stars and the Moonlight and your friendships- use your imagination. If you are comfortable your family and guest will be as well and that is a great way to put good Feng Shui energy around and surrounding your home.
Now if you are enjoying apartment living, you too can create some outdoor Feng Shui inside or on a balcony. The use of candles for the Fire Element always works. Freshen up your seating area with some plants, flower and some inexpensive throw pillows and maybe a small table fountain for the Water Element. Use the Bagua in one room or one space instead of an entire yard. Mirrors represent the Metal Element and your furniture or adornments the Wood Element. Just remember balance and clutter free creates the Zen.
Now go create some Zen so you can go relax and entertain in it this weekend! xoxo Kim
