FENG SHUI FRIDAY
Ecstatically inspired to create a new featured weekly article and it is all about Feng Shui. Feng Shui has been around for thousands of years in the East and here in the West since about the 1970’s or 1980’s. I must say that the Chinese are always on the forefront of health and well-being. I have been practicing Feng Shui since the 80’s as my cousin became ridiculously wealthy by redesigning office spaces around the world using Feng Shui principals.
My goal here is to present a weekly article that will give you all one little task each week to improving the balance in your home and personal spaces through easy Feng Shui tips and advice.
Above you will see the Bagua that is used in Feng Shui. I’ll get into that in the coming weeks. For now I just want to give some really easy and simple tricks to get you all started and then we will learn how to apply all of that with the Bagua to your living space.
The article that I read that inspired me with such gumption was about Keeping Your Entry Way Clear of Clutter.
The philosophy behind this Feng Shi principal is that every time you enter and exit your front door, you carry the energy in that space with you all day long. If you have piles of shoes, mail, junk drop off hot spots at your entry way you bring that junk energy into the home and spread it around like salmonella and likewise when you exit the door for the day. You spread that ugly junk energy and pass it on to every one you encounter, leaving little dropplings of junk energy everywhere you go.
When you keep the entry way nice, neat and clean, you do the same with that good Chi energy, you spread that positivity around everywhere you go, dropping little bits of good Feng Shui Chi, like little gumdrops or rays of sunshine. I know, I am sounding crazy, but the Chinese have been doing it for centuries. This also includes any front porch, portico or landing area that leads up to your entryway.
It is also important, in Feng Shui principals, to use your front door. So many of us park inside of our expansive garages that have an entry way access into the home. Well, our garages are typically filled with clutter and junk, therefore, you are bringing that junk with you as described above. And, it does not take just cleaning up the garage to change up that chi flow either because the front door is considered the Heart of the home, the life center and we should be entering and exiting through there to keep you and your home in good Feng Shui balance.
Keeping it simple – Clear out the Clutter in your entry way.
If you are feeling frisky this weekend and want to take it up a notch, you can include these other front entry way tips and tricks:
- Include attractive lighting both inside and out. Keep fixtures clean.
- Include a side table or credenza that is attractively decorated. Add a vase of flowers or a plant for some extra oomph.
- Make sure that you do not have a mirror facing the front door directly. It will push out your good Chi.
- Place 9 coins under your door mat for increased abundance. I use 9 Chinese gold coins tied together with red ribbon (from Chinatown found in any bigger city).
The main Feng Shui principal is to keep it clean, neat and simple. Try this for 1 week and see if you do not feel better about life in general come next Friday when your next Feng Shui tip is published.
