- Luck, Joy and Happiness on its way
- Make sure to keep yourself grounded
As I was submerged in a lovely salt bath last night surrounded in candlelight, I closed my eyes and heard the sound of many crickets chirping outside. My first instinct was to sit quietly and listen. What was the Cricket saying to me? I heard that something big was coming and I needed to pay attention. A time for celebration and joy and all of the little Crickets were singing in happiness.
Cricket typically symbolizes mystery and intuition. It is a Shamanic symbol and reminder to make sure you stay grounded and balanced. White/Black, Dark/Light. It is a reminder to us to check ourselves and if you have been out of balance, not grounded and protecting your aura and energy; to do so immediately. Good thing I was in a salt bath at the time of this warning as a nice salt bath does wonders for clearing off any negative energy that has attached to our being, it helps to clear and ground us, cleans our aura and refreshes us to anew. The Ocean is perfect for the same purpose.
Cricket also lets you know what is going on with the weather. When it is warm outside, the chirps will be fast and furious, contrarily, their chirps slow when the cold weather moves in. If the Cricket stops singing, be aware that a storm is on its way – not only outside in the atmosphere, but possibly in your life.
Cricket asks us to take a good look at what is happening within ourselves.
I chose Jimni Cricket because I wanted the flavor of whimsy today. Being superstitious myself, cricket is said to bring good luck and joy and we are to never kill a cricket that is found in the home unless you wish to change the wheel of luck on yourself. Cricket enters our homes to shower us with music, love and joy and a symbol that something celebratorious is on its way! If Cricket enters your home, welcome him. If his chirps keep you up at night and becomes an unwelcomed house guest, shoe him out with a broom or gently pick him up in a tissue; give thanks for the luck that he has brought you and send him on his way outside.
