2024 comes in with a bang and a shift in the energy. Ending a “7” year vibration of solitude, privacy, quietness; seeking answers of truth, wisdom and fulfillment and entering into the “8” year vibration of reaping what we have sown. The power of the efforts we put out in 2023 (or the lack thereof) will be realized in 2024. Often associated with power, material and financial gain, achievement, reward and satisfaction. Projects and goals that we have been working towards can come to fruition during an “8” year. Balance and infinity are also associated with “8” years. Creativity or creating something brand new can show up. Often the gains and rewards come with added responsibility. The beginning of one thing and the end of another.
‘”8” years are Ruled by the task master and disciplinarian planet of Saturn. Saturn is often linked to Karma, Karmic relations, fated events, law and order, mastery, empowerment, authority, hard work, productivity, responsibility, duty, career, ambition, public service, discipline, limitations, restrictions, organization, improvements, solid foundations, stability, commitment, effort-based results, material manifestation, financial rewards, recognition, social status, maturity, old-age, reality checks, resilience, patience, progress, delays, separation and solitude.
When it comes to a Saturn “8” year the word Karma comes into play as it is a reap what one has sown type of year. If the efforts were put in, one could expect to reap the rewards. Lack of effort equals lack of rewards. It really all depends on the energy expended and our own personal Karma, whether from this lifetime or a past lifetime. I like to think that Jupiter plays a role in this as well as he is known as the Great Benefic; yet he doles out equal ills and blessings during our lifetime. Some ills and blessings come in lumps, some during the beginning of life or the end of life, some interspersed equally throughout; each of us is different and will experience Jupiter differently. Those that may harvest during an “8” year most likely spent the last 7 years planting and watering their own personal seeds, weeding, and tending to our proverbial gardens. The fruits of our labor can be expected; this is called Destiny. Losses sometimes do occur in these “8” years in order to make room for the harvest and in extreme cases, depending on one’s Karma (past or present), there could be extreme punishments (so to speak) when one’s life truly needs sorting and contemplation and improvement.
We could find that obstacles, boundaries, restrictions lay in our path. Know that anything that is meant for us cannot be held back long no matter how distant it may seem. Conversely, no matter how close a temptation is to our grasp, if it is truly not meant for us, it will never be. What is meant for us in this lifetime will come with ease and as a form of protection, what is not meant for us will elude us no matter the effort. I often think of lovers that just never commit or are a constant challenge to find balance and harmony with. If something or someone causes dis-ease, then maybe it is not meant to be.
We get what we want in an “8” year, unless it is out of touch with reality, then it can become a liability; much like a lesson if you will.
What if you do not know what you want? Then what shows up will be just as confusing and life will react with the same level of uncertainty.
Start where you are. Get into your heart. Be kind and compassionate to yourself. Be patient. Chop wood and carry water until you are clear.
An “8” year is for wishes coming true; however, they must be specific and realistic. This year we can prosper according to the strength of our determination and the accuracy of the information we take in, and the depth of our awareness. Our ability to make things happen and get things done can increase. Our expectations will rise, along with our confidence and feelings of satisfaction.
8 is the year of power and self-empowerment. Do something bold for yourself – it may pay off!
